The provision of student accommodation on the Northfield site situated at the edge of the campus for the University of Sussex. The project consists of 14 accommodation blocks and a reception and social block with associated infrastructure. The accommodation blocks contain a total of 777 units , comprising en-suite study rooms, studio flats, together with 4 No. wheelchair accessible study rooms. The reception and social block provides office, storage and ancillary space together with catering and retail facilities.
The student accommodation will utilise the existing campus heating main. The project is to achieve a BREEAM "Excellent" rating.
The project involves working adjacent to existing student accommodation.
The University of Sussex are seeking to tender the project on a single stage design & build contract based on the GC works contract form.
The construction programme is anticipated to be between January 2010 to July 2011.

III.2) CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: A Pre-qualification questionnaire and information pack, obtainable from Currie and Brown, should be completed and returned to the University of Sussex by noon on Monday, 27.7.2009.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: (a) appropriate statements from banks or, where appropriate, evidence of relevant professional risk indemnity insurance;
(b) the presentation of balance-sheets or extracts from the balance-sheets, where publication of the balance-sheet is required under the law of the country in which the economic operator is established;
(c) a statement of the undertaking's overall turnover and, where appropriate, of turnover in the area covered by the contract for a maximum of the last 3 financial years available, depending on the date on which the undertaking was set up or the economic operator started trading, as far as the information on these turnovers is available.
