Ragged School Museum — Architect Lead Team.
Refurbishment of a Grade II listed museum building — Architect lead team including Structural, MEP and acoustics engineering services.

The Ragged School Museum (the client) invites expressions of interest from an Architect led team to submit tenders in respect to an extensive refurbishment and expansion project within their existing Grade II listed ex-warehouse buildings in East London.
The appointed team will include MEP, Structural and Acoustic engineering and will start at RIBA Stage 2 in September 2017 and work towards submission of a planning and listed building consent application by the Summer of 2018. The successful team will have extensive experience of public, cultural and listed buildings and sensitive refurbishment projects.
The building works are currently budgeted at a Construction Cost of 2 800 000 GBP based on a Strategic Development Plan completed by Richard Griffiths Architects in 2013. The client has been awarded a HLF first-round pass and will be submitting a Round 2 application over the same period.

Appointment of the team beyond RIBA Stage 3 will be subject to the successful outcome of the HLF Round Two funding application and associated match funding.

The contracting authority will incorporate a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. Applicants who are unsuccessful shall be informed by the contracting authority as soon as possible after the decision has been made as to the reasons why the Applicant was unsuccessful. If an appeal regarding the award of the contract has not been successfully resolved, The Public Contracts Regulations 2006 (SI 2006 No. 5) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by breach of the rules to take legal action. in the High Court (England Wales and Northern Ireland). Any such action must be brought within the applicable limitation period. Where a contract has not been entered into, the Court may order the setting aside of the award decision or order the authority to amend any document and may
award damages. If the contract has been entered into the Court may, depending on the circumstances, award damages, make a declaration of ineffectiveness, order the Authority to pay a fine, and/or order that the duration of the contract be shortened. The purpose of the standstill period referred to above is to allow the parties to apply to the Courts to set aside the award decision before the contract is entered into.
