Long-term claims management Workers’ compensation claims can remain open for several years: • medical follow-up; • temporary or permanent incapacity; • potential legal action. Staying with the same insurer facilitates the management and monitoring of these claims. 3. Reduction in administrative costs For an international or multi-site organisation such as the European Schools, a competitive tendering process represents a significant administrative burden: • collection of claims data; • preparation of the tender specifications; • analysis of bids; • transition to a new insurer. A six-year term allows these costs to be spread over time. 4.
