Zur optimierten Bereitstellung des On-Demand-Verkehrs (ODV wurden) Daten- und KI-basierte Nachfrageprognosen im Modellprojekt SMILE24 entwickelt. Die Verlängerung des Bewilligungszeitraumes sowie die damit verbundene Notwendigkeit, die bestehenden Lösungen kurzfristig an veränderte  Bediengebiete anzupassen und weiterzuentwickeln, waren zum Zeitpunkt der ursprünglichen Vergabe noch nicht absehbar. 
Ein Wechsel des Auftragnehmers kommt aus technischen und wirtschaftlichen Gründen nicht in Betracht. Die zusätzlich erforderlichen Leistungen stehen in einem unmittelbaren funktionalen und technologischen Zusammenhang mit den bereits entwickelten und im Projekt SMILE24 eingesetzten System zur daten- und KI-basierten Nachfrageprognose sowie Integration von Linien- und On-Demand-Verkehr.
