Chaque période en cours peut prendre fin lorsque est atteint : - soit son terme : dans ce cas la reconduction interviendra, tacitement, sauf décision de non-reconduction prise par le pouvoir adjudicateur ; -soit son maximum est atteint : dans ce cas la réception de la reconduction expresse déclenchera le début de la nouvelle période. L'ajustement parfait des derniers bons de commande sur le montant exact du maximum affecté à la période peut s'avérer techniquement impossible. C'est pourquoi le maximum est considéré comme atteint lorsque le montant résiduel de commande sur la période ne permet plus la passation d'un bon de commande correspondant à l'exécution normale de l'accord-cadre. Dans ce dernier cas, la durée totale de l'accord-cadre considéré sera réduite d'autant et s'il s'agit de la dernière période, l'accord-cadre s'achèvera. A l'issue de la dernière reconduction, plus aucune nouvelle commande ne pourra être réalisée en exécution de cet accord-cadre. Si l’acheteur ne souhaite pas reconduire l'accord-cadre, il doit prendre une décision expresse de non-reconduction, qu’il notifie au titulaire au plus tard 60 jours calendaires avant la date d’échéance de l'accord-cadre initial ou d'une reconduction ultérieure. Le titulaire ne peut s'opposer à la non-reconduction de l'accord-cadre.
