Volkshuisvesting en Ruimtelijke Ordening (VRO) doet deze inventarisatie samen met Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten (VNG) en Interprovinciaal Overleg (IPO). De gegevens uit deze inventarisatie worden door VRO gebruikt om samen met de provincies en gemeenten te sturen op de woningbouw. De inventarisatie staat bekend als de Landelijke Monitor Voortgang Woningbouw (LMVW). Ten behoeve van deze inventarisatie leveren alle gemeenten via de provincies op planniveau informatie over hun woningbouwplannen bij een landelijke beheerder. Hierover zijn afspraken gemaakt in een dataprotocol en in basisset. De ambitie is de huidige LMVW-dataset meer te gaan ontsluiten en gegevens uit bestaande databronnen in te laden in de LMVW. Hierbij past het te zoeken naar een beheerder die deze taken gaat uitvoeren. Vandaar de aanbesteding van de beheertaak. €1.000.000,-
