Justification for the accelerated procedure: Seit dem Ausfall aller ihrer Atemschutzgeräte durch einen technischen Defekt der Füllanlage ist die Berufsfeuerwehr und Freiwillige Feuerwehr der Stadt Salzburg auf Leihgeräte aus Kärnten, Oberösterreich und dem gesamten Bundesland Salzburg angewiesen. Einzelne Leihgeber machen mittlerweile wieder ihren Eigenbedarf (z.B. wegen erforderlicher Wartungen) geltend. Die Berufsfeuerwehr und Freiwillige Feuerwehr der Stadt Salzburg ist für größere Brand-Notfälle allein mit den Leihgeräten nicht ausreichend ausgestattet und bedarf daher dringend neuer Geräte. Unmittelbar nach Freigabe der Mittel durch den Gemeinderat am 15.7.2026 wurde mit den Arbeiten zur Neubeschaffung begonnen. Weitere Details siehe Vergabedokumentation.
