Justification for direct award: The contract can be provided only by a particular economic operator because of an absence of competition for technical reasons
Other justification: Region Hovedstaden har behov for en skanner der er klinisk godkendt, med LSO krystaller, der kan give kvantitative fysiologiske mål på alle organsystemer (inkl. tumor) simultant, hvorfor et FOV på mindst 1 meter er et ufravigeligt krav. Dette er nødvendigt for at kunne foretage undersøgelser af dynamikken mellem organsystemer under hvile og belastning, f.eks. farmakologisk og psykologisk stress, hypoxi, systemiske inflam-mation, subjektive oplevelser, osv. Dette giver et overblik over patientens samlede fysiologi, der aldrig tidligere være muligt med nogen teknik. Yderligere skal skanneren i særlig høj grad anvendes til børneskanninger, hvorfor det store FOV, som giver en meget stor sensitivitet, er nødvendigt for at skanne børn med meget lav dosis. Skanneren indgår i klinikken parallelt med eksisterende skanner som har et FOV på mindst 1 meter og gantryåbning på 78. Dette er et krav, da det sikrer et identisk patient setup. Yderligere indgås der en samarbejdsaftale om yderlig udvikling af systemet. Da skanneren indgår i hospitalets og regionens behandling af kritiske patienter er der behov for hurtig udbedring af fejl, hvilket betyder det er et absolut krav at der kan være fuldtuddannet teknikker til stede på under 4 timer efter en mulig fejl er rapporteret. Alene Siemens Healthcare A/S har skanner, service set-up samt udviklings pipeline, der opfylder de kliniske krav til Klinisk Fysiologi og Nuklearmedicin, Rigshospitalets behov.
