In case that this is a new device, references for the previous version of the device in question will also be taken into consideration. If necessary to ensure an adequate level of competition, the contracting authority has the right to take into account evidence of relevant supplies or services provided more than three years ago.

These references will be used to assess the scientific quality, technological maturity and research suitability of the proposed equipment.
