Additional information: La pêche à la palangre pélagique ciblant l’espadon est exercée tout au long de l’année dans le Sud-Ouest de l’Océan Indien par les palangriers pélagiques basés à l’île de la Réunion. Le présent marche s’inscrit dans le cadre du Programme national pluriannuel de collecte des données halieutiques (PTN/DCF) cofinance par le FEAMPA (Règlement (UE) n° 2021/1139 du 7 juillet 2021, OS 1.4). Conformément à la Résolution CTOI 25/06, les palangriers de moins de 24 m opérant en ZEE ou en haute mer doivent faire l’objet d’une couverture minimale de 5 % de l’effort de pêche exprime en nombre d’hameçons. La Résolution CTOI 23/08 instaure en complément un cadre de Surveillance Electronique (EMS) qui peut compléter, sans se substituer à ce stade, la surveillance humaine.
