De opdracht omvat restauratiewerken exterieur en restauratiewerken interieur, meer concreet : - Exterieur fase 6.3 : afbraak aanbouwen, gevelrestauratie, schrijnwerk, dakrestauratie, omgevingsaanleg binnenkoeren B5 en B6 - Restauratie interieur fase A : architectuur, restauratie, stabiliteit, technische installaties (HVAC, sanitair, elektriciteit, data). De aanpak streeft naar een herwaardering van het bestaande historisch interieurconcept, een technische upgrade die het complex klaar maakt voor de toekomst en een circulair materiaalgebruik. Nadere locatie en omschrijving van de werkzaamheden zijn omschreven in de Selectieleidraad. Het betreft een opdracht met een zeer hoge technische complexiteit, gezien de verregaande restauratieve en technische ingrepen, in combinatie met een gebouw (bibliotheek) dat in gebruik blijft én de moeilijke bereikbaarheid in Gent Centrum (charter werftransport stad Gent). De Universiteit Gent verwacht dat bij de opdrachtnemer alle vereiste expertises aanwezig zijn. De Universiteit Gent wenst één globale overeenkomst aan te gaan, waarin alle uit te voeren werken zijn begrepen.
