Description: An Post has a varied property portfolio across the Republic of Ireland supporting it business operations, including retail outlets, sorting offices, mail centres and administrative buildings. The portfolio comprises a range of property types, from traditional Post Office buildings dating from 1900s to modern buildings and standard light-industrial units. Certain properties are protected structure or are located within Architectural Conversation Areas. An Post operates in a unionised environment and requires appropriate communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders throughout the delivery of works. Works undertaken under the Qualification System may include, but are not limited to, the following categories: (1) Significant Refurbishment works (2) Extensions to existing occupied premises (3) Fit out of newly acquired premises (4) New builds – Greenfield sites A significant proportion of the works may be carried out within occupied and operational premises. Contractors may therefore be required to plan and execute works in a manner that maintains continuity of An Post’s business operations and minimises disruption to employees, customers and other stakeholders. The Qualification System is primarily intended to cover Major Construction / Works with an estimated individual project value of €251,000 to €5 million, excluding VAT. An Post may, from time to time, use the Qualification System for Projects with an estimated value above or below this range, where appropriate and subject to applicable procurement requirements
