If the supplier does not have such a system in place at the time of contract award, the supplier shall undertake to establish or obtain certification of an environmental management system within 12 months of contract award. Upon request, the supplier shall be able to document the status of the work related to the establishment of the environmental management system. Failure to comply with this requirement within the specified deadline shall be considered a material breach of contract.
