This service contract envisages implementing the urban adaptation initiative for climate change adaptation in European cities ('Mayors adapt') from 2015. This contract shall aim at expanding the existing network of (at least) 50 cities to at least 200 cities across the European Union by the end of 2016. It shall organise a well-running network of cities which have voluntarily committed themselves to design local adaptation strategies, to deliver adaptation action (planning Horizon 2020) and to consider adaptation in an integrated manner across different municipal competences.
