Greater Manchester Metrolink — Operation and maintenance of a tram system.

II.3)Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
Transport for Greater Manchester's (TfGM's) existing contracts for the operation and maintenance of its light rail system, Metrolink, expire in 2017. TfGM will be tendering for the new contract in 2015. TfGM consider the light rail system to be a tram and will be procuring on this basis.

TfGM is issuing this notice to advise that it intends to commence a procurement under the negotiated procedure of Directive 2004/17/EC during 2015. This notice is not a notice under Article 41(1) or 42(1)(a) of Directive 2004/17/EC. This notice is a voluntary notice to advise that TfGM intends to hold a bidders event day at TfGM's offices in Manchester, England during March 2015. Interested organisations may register their interest at TfGM will also notify all those who register their interest of the date and details when confirmed.

Further details about this procurement will be published in a supplementary notice and on TfGM's website when the date and details are confirmed.
TfGM is interested in organisations, consortium and supply chain members attending the bidders event. When the procurement is commenced the requirements for financial standing and technical expertise will be confirmed in the OJEU Notice and/or accompanying procurement documentation.
