Study on the Technical, Regulatory, Economic and Environmental Effectiveness of Textile Fibres Recycling
The objectives of the study aim at:
— improving the knowledge about opportunities and challenges of textile waste recycling technologies,
— identifying promising areas for future research and innovation projects,
— providing policy makers with an in-depth analysis of existing regulatory barriers and presenting alternative policy options.
The place of performance of the tasks shall be the contractor's premises or any other place indicated in the tender, with the exception of the commission's premises.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the contractor will need to perform the following tasks:
WP1: Technical analysis – mapping of textile recycling activities and technologies;
WP2: Analysis of the economic and environmental aspects of the textile recycling technologies identified under Work Package 1;
WP3: Definition of roadmaps and recommendations for potential supporting initiatives for textile recycling technologies under development and those almost ready or ready for scale up at industrial level in the EU;
WP4: Analysis of the existing EU regulatory framework and recommendations for policy solutions to existing or potential regulatory barriers.
