The JRC Karlsruhe plans the purchase of 5 master-slave telemanipulators for remote operations in hot cells. The existing telemanipulators were installed on the big cells around 1966 and need to be replaced now for both safety and economic reasons.

The system is intended to ensure an efficient remote handling and fine technical operations on radioactive materials through the radiation protection of the hot cells within JRC Karlsruhe premises. For this reason the equipment shall comply with all requirements ruling the activities within JRC Karlsruhe laboratories.
