This open call for tender aims at establishing a fully operational, automated, global, satellite-based flood monitoring product, which will provide a continuous, near real-time (NRT) global monitoring of all major flood events and which will serve as a new element of the existing flood early warning and monitoring component of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (CEMS). The global flood monitoring product shall be based on a systematic, automated delineation of flooded areas and water-bodies using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data from the Copernicus Sentinel-1 satellites.
