Glasgow City Council has a strong track record of successfully delivering large scale regeneration projects. This redevelopment of Sighthill represents 1 of the most ambitious programmes of urban renewal in the UK. The masterplan aims to create a vibrant, pedestrian friendly, urban residential neighbourhood, providing sustainable living with a diverse range of accommodation and an enhanced new green network, all in close proximity to the city centre
Within this procurement, the Council seeks to appoint a single development partner (or consortia) to deliver the residential led development of Sighthill.
The main objectives of the development are:
1. To deliver 650 housing units;
2. To deliver potential commercial space;
3. To identify and deliver a suitable development on the alternative site;
4. To provide an exemplar of urban regeneration, well designed and built to the highest environmental standards;
5. To deliver a sustainable diverse and marketable outcome with open spaces and amenity areas that contribute to meeting sustainability objectives;
6. The provision of a low carbon development both by its design and function;
7. A design solution that is deliverable, fund-able and affordable.
The Council reserves the right to consider alternative financing, funding and / or contractual arrangements to support the delivery of this project.
