The City of Sibiu intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a project to upgrade and refurbish earth streets in the city. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of 67.5 million LEI, will require the procurement of rehabilitation works of 61 earth streets as follows:
Out of these 61 streets only the following tender package is left to be tendered:
Tender Package No. 4 - Upgrading and refurbishment of 18 streets within the City of Sibiu in the Areas: Tilisca, Turnisor II, Gusterita and Gusterita-Turnisor (4 Lots)
out of which:
Lot 1: Upgrading and refurbishment of four streets in Area Tilisca (namely: Talmacel, Orlat, Luchian Stefan and Presaca with approximate total length of 1,2 km)
Lot 2: Upgrading and refurbishment of five streets in Area Turnisor II (namely: Ovazului, Seceratoarelor, Graului, Serbota and Piata Cluj with approximate total length of 1,8 km).
Lot 3: Upgrading and refurbishment of six streets in Area Gusterita (namely: Luncii, Frasinului, Pinului, Cedonia, Gorunului and Muncitorilor with approximate total length of 2,5 km)
Lot 4: Upgrading and refurbishment of three streets in Area Gusterita-Turnisor (namely: Ana Ipatescu, Malinului and Nita Octavian with approximate total length of 2,2 km)
Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2017.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
