Belgium-Brussels: Spatially structured decision support tool for mixed fisheries
Section I: Contracting authority
Section II: Object
Spatially structured decision support tool for mixed fisheries.
EASME wishes to enter into a service contract with the objective to develop a decision support tool (a scientific model) that will integrate the sustainability of mixed fisheries (i.e. the technical interactions of fleets with target/non-target fish) with economic and possibly social dimensions of fisheries in the Irish Sea (ICES Division VIIa) and in the seas west of Scotland (ICES Division VIa and VIb). A key aspect of its design shall be the inclusion of stakeholders in the development of the decision support tool and the design of testing management scenarios.
In its main application, the tool shall assist the delivery of multiannual plans by providing a means to examine and improve management options. The decision support tool of this study can build on a previous project decision support tool and results, or can be newly developed providing similar type of analysis and results.
The services to be provided are further detailed in the tender specifications (Section 1.4).
The tasks are to be performed at the premises designated by the contractor, save where meetings are to be held at EASME's or the European Commission's premises.
