Applying the Polluter-pays Principle to Agricultural Emissions
The general objective of this contract is to deliver an economic study assessing several design options for applying the polluter-pays principle to incentivise climate mitigation in the land sector. This follows a recommendation from the Court of Auditors to ‘assess the potential to apply the polluter-pays principle to emissions from agricultural activities, and reward farmers for long-term carbon removals’.
