NGN intend to extend the agreement with SAP and expand the scope of their SAP licencing model to deliver key GD2 promises.

Explanation:

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) intend to renew their SAP licences for a 5-year period. Without this renewal, NGN will lose access to key critical business applications like SuccessFactors (NGN&Me) and SCP (the platform for the E&R work app, the dispatch app, etc.). Extending provides NGN with security of supply around these critical systems heading into GD2. With NGN's current architecture, the optimal approach is to continue using SAP products, as the alternative would be a re-implementation of new technology, infrastructure and middleware, plus integration with our back end ERP. Loss of access to the E&R work app and the dispatch app would pose a serious risk to life and property and to NGNs ability to fulfill our regulatory licence conditions. The development of these apps, along with the integration into ERP has taken over 2 years.
