II.1.4)Short description:
The new policy framework for 2030 presents a major difference in comparison to the 2020 framework. While the EU 20 % renewable share target for 2020 was broken down into binding national targets, the 27 % minimum target for 2030 is not. Special efforts are therefore required to guarantee that Member States adopt national measures which lead to collective compliance with the EU-wide target. The upcoming renewable energy package will create the conditions to ensure delivery of the renewable energy target. To support all these initiatives and to become world leader in renewable energy, the European Commission aims to involve relevant European, national and local/regional political, industrial and social actors related to the renewable energy field so that compliance with the 27 % minimum renewable target is pursued, supported and overseen at all possible levels.
