The overall aim of the seminars is to raise awareness and promote the dissemination of information on EU gender equality legislation amongst judges and legal practitioners in the EU and in those candidate countries and EEA/EFTA countries which have decided to participate in the REC programme (rights, equality and citizenship programme). The immediate objectives of the seminars will be as follows:
— to raise participants' awareness and understanding of the key principles and concepts of EU gender equality legislation,
— to provide insights on the main case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union,
— to discuss with participants the problems that may arise in the interpretation of specific provisions in the light of hypothetical and actual cases.
