The new Concessions Directive (Directive 2014/23/EU) established a legal framework for the award of concession contracts in member states. In order to evaluate properly the functioning of the directive, it is necessary to map the existing situation and get a solid overview and understanding on how the concessions directive is currently applied and used in the member states and the EEA countries.
