General Practice Morbidity Surveillance Service
Public Health England (PHE) are engaging with a supplier with a dedicated team/unit including medical, scientific, and IT expertise to run a general practitioner (GP) morbidity surveillance service.
The aim of this tender is to achieve a seamless provision in current general practice data linked to a systematic biological sampling framework from a representative sample of general practices in England.
If you believe this to be an inappropriate notice, and that you can provide the services offered, please contact us before 17.00 on the 1 June 2020.
Section IV: Procedure
A new contract based on the existing terms is to be offered to the Royal College of GP’s to undertake a significantly extended surveillance programme over the next 23 months that includes testing for Covid-19. The RCGP already provide a disease surveillance service to PHE as part of a 3-year contract. The intellectual property required for the provision of the data referred to in the specification is owned by the Royal College of General Practitioners. We are therefore of the opinion that no other body is capable of producing this data in the form that we require. The increase in activity will require additional resources to be utilised and consumables/tests to be used.
