Section VII: Modifications to the contract/concession

The subject of this amendment is the GEO-2 Navigation Land Earth Stations (NLES) hosting sites preparation and hosting services for EGNOS V3. The two GEO-2 NLES hosting sites (Betzdorf and Redu) are covered by this change.
The GEO-2 service contract was signed with SES and NLES stations are necessary to provide the GEO service. GEO-2 will be used for EGNOS V3 service provision, therefore no other provider can deliver NLES hosting services as the NLES are intrinsically linked to the GEO provider. Further, a change of contractor would mean procuring another GEO service contract, whereas the GEO services need to be in place for V3 by 2021.The value of the change is below 50 percent of the total value of the contract.
