Request for Expression of Interest to conduct a Smart Water Solution trial
South East Water Ltd (SEW) is a UK supplier of drinking water to 2 200 000 consumers through 83 water treatment works and manages 14 500 km of water mains and more than 120 service reservoirs. SEW is expected to have a 90 % metering penetration by the end of 2018.
The purpose of this Expression of Interest (EoI) is to provide the market with an understanding of how SEW is looking to improve outcomes to our customers and drive a more efficient operation through IoT, analytics and AI digital transformation. The responses will enable SEW to understand market capability, trends and align innovative opportunities with existing technologies. SEW’s would like to explore the potential to incorporate the services and tools, from meter manufactures, software solution providers and IoT sensor venders into one integrated solution, and through this realize the full benefit of digitisation.
Smart water solution trial - Scope.
Smart water networks is a key element of our move to a more predictive and preventative operating model, creating a digital twin of our assets, and using machine learning and AI tools to measure, predict and propose interventions on our system dynamically.
To better understand how this could work, and how the separate elements would be integrated to achieve this objective, SEW intends to run a 1 year trial. This trial would be used to determine whether combining the latest advancements in technology would provide sufficient efficiencies and performance improvements to justify a wider implementation for the future following a full procurement exercise. The results of this trial will be reviewed and used to inform our leakage and metering strategy.
Interested parties should confirm their interest by obtaining further information by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org for full details of the process and timescales. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 9.7.2018.
The objective of the trial is to have a solution that enables SEW to visualise, analyse, monitor, predict and improve the real-time performance of its water network. Integrating relevant internal and external data sources into one platform by also combining new sensors and AMI meters, the solution enables users to correlate and analyse this data while providing different views and capabilities.
