II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for West Yorkshire is leading on this market engagement process on behalf of the Yorkshire and Humber Police Forces.

The purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to assist West Yorkshire Police to understand the current market conditions and to identify any potential impacts of Covid-19. This is to inform their options for the delivery of mechanical services to support West Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, and potentially other parties within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The PCC intends to use information gained from the market to inform future procurement options.

West Yorkshire Police (Lead Force) currently has 79 buildings across the West Yorkshire region, all of varying size, age and complexity. The estate accommodates many functions ranging from office accommodation, custody suites, garaging, control rooms, IT data centres, covert premises, through to helicopter bases and storage requirements.

South Yorkshire Police currently has 60 buildings across the South Yorkshire region, all of varying size, age and complexity. The estate accommodates many functions ranging from office accommodation, custody suites, garaging, control rooms, IT data centres, covert premises, training facilities, through to horse stabling and dog compounds.

Please note that this is a request for information and market understanding only, not a request for a quotation or formal tender. Therefore, the PCC is not seeking formal submissions at this stage. However, information is requested to be submitted confidentially via the Bluelight e-tendering portal.

Please also note that by submitting a response to the market engagement, this does not guarantee any future work to any supplier. Should the PCC wish to proceed with a future tender opportunity, this will be advertised via the Bluelight e-tendering website and appropriate journals, where applicable.
