Replacing the paper ticket by an Eticket, together with the development of a distribution platform, is the dominant challenge for Eurail Group. In addition, Eurail Group is looking for a solution to track travel behaviour of its customers.
For the above challenges, Eurail Group intends to use solutions already available in the market and therefore this Market Consultation is held in order to:
— Get more details about the potential solutions and how these solutions might work in practice;
— Define the pilot scope and implementation phasing;
— Learn about possible solutions for electronic Tracking Travel Behaviour.
The scope of this Market Consultation can be divided in 2 chapters:
1. Eticketing and Distribution Platform development;
2. Tracking Travel behaviour.

Market Consultation Process Description (Summary):
1. Interested parties can send an email to: tenders@eurailgroup.org no later than 19.8.2016, 23:59 (CET);
2. Eurail Group confirms receipt and provides relevant documentation and a Market Consultation questionnaire (documentation will be ready as of 19.8.2016);
3. Dialogue sessions.
In those cases where Eurail seeks further information from certain parties or groups of parties these (groups of) parties will be invited for a dialogue session with Eurail Group's market consultation team. In those sessions the invited (groups of) parties and Eurail Group will enter into a dialogue to clarify the given answers to Eurail Group or to answer new questions that emerge during the session. The session(s) will be held with 1 or more authorised representatives of the parties.
Please note that the dialogue sessions will be held in September (between 20-30.9.2016).
Background to the project:
The aim of Eurail Group is to increase the number of Eurail and Interrail travellers substantially in the future by offering propositions that excel in convenience and value to its current and future customers.
The above projects should help to improve the Eurail and Interrail Pass business and services whilst facilitating an effective and reliable inspection process for the carriers.
