Each candidate who is a natural person and each natural person engaged in providing the services concerned must have attained the following minimal level of technical and professional capacity.
* For translation from English (EN lot):
— a university degree in law and/or a university degree in English philology, translation or legal linguistics, giving the right to continue studies at Master's level,
— if the candidates do not have a university degree in law, professional experience in translating legal texts of at least two years is required,
— perfect command of Latvian,
— very good command of English.
* For translation from French (FR lot), German (DE lot), Italian (IT lot), Spanish (EU lot) and Polish (PL lot):
— university degree in law and/or a university degree in any other field, giving the right to continue studies at Master's level,
— if the candidates do not have a university degree in law, professional experience in translating legal texts of at least two years is required,
— perfect command of Latvian,
— knowledge of the source language (advanced).
Information and formalities necessary for evaluating whether the requirements are met:
— detailed curriculum vitae,
— copy of the relevant university degree diploma,
— information on the perfect command of Latvian (e.g. method of acquisition, diploma(s), professional experience),
— documents and/or other clarifying information proving very good knowledge of the source language (for example, diploma, certificate, employer’s certification, work experience, type of language acquisition, self-assessment of language skills (based on, for example, the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), etc.),
— where appropriate, documents proving professional experience in translating legal texts and/or other clarifying information (for example, contracts, certificates, financial documents, list of works, etc.).
