The Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH) Project team will be holding a supplier workshop on the 23..2019.
This workshop is designed to engage with the market place to provide information on the WRLtH project and the scheme so far. The day will consist of an overview of the project including the packages of work that will be open to the market for tender as well as an interactive workshop to create an open forum for collaboration, providing an opportunity for suppliers to network, to review and discuss various aspects of the project.
If you are interested in attending this workshop in Swindon on the 23.7.2019 at 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. please email, WRLtHProcurement@networkrail.co.uk by Friday 5.7.2019 providing the following information, upon which a formal invite will be confirmed.
Please note that places are limited and reserve the right to limit your number of attendees.
The Western Rail Link to Heathrow (WRLtH) project has been developing options to provide west-facing direct rail access from the Great Western Main Line (GWML) to the Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
The proposed main contract structure of the programme will be based on three discrete packages of work where the design and construction of each package can be completed largely in isolation of the other packages.
The first package will consist of works to construct the Rail Intersection Bridge (RIB) underneath the GWML and will include all civil engineering, track, OLE and associated works to create both the bridge and the new rail junction with the GWML.
The second package will consist of the works to construct the 2 tunnels into T5 and will include the procurement and operation of the Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and the construction of the shafts, cross passages and sprayed concrete sections.
The third package will consist of the fit-out of the tunnel section, including track, OLE, ventilation, etc.
This is not an invitation to tender, it is solely a market engagement exercise and no direct business will be awarded as a result of participating in this exercise. Further responding to this PIN will not in any way advantage or disadvantage any supplier in a future procurement exercise. Following the market engagement exercise, Network Rail will not be bound to conduct a procurement exercise.
