The subject of this call for tenders is the Provision of technical assistance for the preparation and translation of the 8th report on economic, social and territorial cohesion.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The tasks of this contract are regrouped in two distinct phases, the first comprising all activities up to the adoption of the communication by the commission, the second including all activities following its adoption.

1) Tasks leading up to the adoption of the communication of the commission on the 8th Report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion.

The main tasks under this first phase are the following:

(a) inception report to be established following kick-off meeting;

(b) ensuring the coherence of the analysis;

(c) revising the source text to ensure readability, accurate use of technical terms and uniformity of style;

(d) accompanying the process of adjustment of the Report in the run-up to the adoption of the Communication and ensuring availability of the EN version of the Report for the day of the adoption of the Communication by the Commission;

(e) designing a template for the page layout, which will apply to all language versions, including for graphs, maps and tables, and a template for the cover.

2) Tasks following the adoption of the communication of the commission on the 8th report on economic, social and territorial cohesion.

The main task under this second phase will consist of translating the report into the remaining 21 EU languages and preparing the final files ready for printing.

In particular:

(a) revision and proofreading all the language versions of the communication for integration the working paper;

(b) translating the cover and the working paper including all text in charts, maps and tables, into the remaining 21 EU languages, and integrating it with the communication;

(c) desk-top publishing task once the translated report is fed into the template for the desk-top lay-out in order to ensure the lay-out is appropriate;

(d) for the publication of the report: producing the electronic files for computer to plate (CTP) for printing (for all language versions), and for web publishing;

(e) formatted versions of graphs and tables.
