The purpose of this study is to support the Commission in promoting compliance with Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Extractive Waste Directive). Key tasks are to develop a coherent description of the extractive sector in the EU with plausible and matching figures on the amounts of extractive waste generated and corresponding numbers of extractive waste facilities, to foster a uniform understanding of the key concepts of the Directive by Member States and to contribute to making reporting on the implementation of the Directive more effective and efficient.

In line with Article 134.1.e) and f) of the rules of application to Regulation (EU, Euratom) 2015/1929 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28.10.2015 (Financial Regulation), during the 3 years following conclusion of the original contract, the contracting authority will be able to use the negotiated procedure for additional services (without prior publication of a contract notice) for new services or works consisting in the repetition of similar services or works entrusted to the economic operator to which the same contracting authority awarded an original contract, provided that these services or works are in conformity with a basic project for which the original contract was awarded after publication of a contract notice, subject to the conditions set out in paragraph 4 of Article 134.

Please note this was previously published in the PIN OJ 2017/S 044-079856 on 3.3.2017 with the title ‘Support for the preparation of a guidance document to ensure that the principles of the Directive 2006/21/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (Extractive Waste Directive) are applied in all Member States in a harmonised way’ with an amount of 220 000 EUR.
