Provision Of Vision Testing Services.
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) requires a contract which will deliver visual field and visual acuity testing service by qualified and trained opticians to assist DVLA in determining a drivers medical fitness to hold a driving licence. The successful supplier must be capable of carrying out both Group 1 and Group 2 Visual Field Standard Tests within the United Kingdom excluding Northern Ireland. Suppliers may consider the creation of consortiums and or sub-contracting with Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) to ensure delivery. Service providers should indicate if they fall within a small (less than 50 employees) or medium (50 to 249 employees) enterprise category. DVLA encourages open, fair and transparent procurement and omission from any part of the Department's market engagement exercise shall not be taken into account in any subsequent procurement. It should be noted that responding to this notice does not place any service provider in an advantageous position.

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to forewarn interested service providers of this requirement and highlight that we plan to hold a ‘Supplier Day’ for the purpose of market sounding and to enable DVLA to describe and develop our proposed requirements. The Supplier Day has been scheduled for Friday 29.9.2017 and will be held at a location in Swansea. Interested service providers must express their interest via e-mail to the named contact point in section 1.1 above by 17:00 hours on Friday 25.8.2017 quoting reference PS/17/95 — Vision Testing Services. Following the Supplier Day DVLA anticipates commencing the procurement with the publication of an OJEU contract notice in October 2017.
