The Furnished Tenancy Scheme is a scheme whereby new tenants to Oxford City Council are offered the option of choosing items of furniture from a selected range of items including carpets, furnishings, curtains and white goods up to a maximum value. These items are then purchased by the Council and supplied direct to the property within a specified time frame by a contractor including any fitting. The Council rents these items to the tenants recovering an additional weekly charge through the rent.

The Furnished Tenancy Scheme is a scheme whereby new tenants to Oxford City Council are offered the option of choosing items of furniture from a selected range of items including carpets, furnishings, curtains and white goods up to a maximum value. These items are then purchased by the Council and supplied direct to the property within a specified time frame by a contractor including any fitting. The Council rents these items to the tenants recovering an additional weekly charge through the rent.

This contract will also be available to Local Authorities and Housing Associations within Oxfordshire.
However, the Council is not able to guarantee this level of business.
It is anticipated that approximately 150-200 new furnished tenancies will be created per annum for the immediate future.
— Supplies to the following values are anticipated per annum over the next 3 years,
— Supply and fittings of carpets — 130 000 GBP (excluding VAT),
— Supply and delivery of white kitchen goods — 90 000 GBP (excluding VAT),
— Supply and delivery of furniture, curtains and miscellaneous household items — 110 000 GBP (excluding VAT).
However, the Council is not able to guarantee this level of business.
