The proportion of overweight and obese children in European Member States is worryingly high, and the proportion of the population who suffer from health issues due to obesity and weight problems continues to rise. This should take into account realistic assumptions and actual usage conditions. An analysis of the impact of those tools and their messages will be performed. This study will provide concrete support for the Member States to implement the strategy for Europe on nutrition, overweight and obesity-related health issues and the EU action plan on childhood obesity 2014–2020, that call for initiatives to curb inappropriate marketing of food to children.
