Main Works Civils Contracts (‘MWCC’).
High Speed Two (HS2) Limited (‘HS2 Ltd’) is responsible for developing and promoting the new high speed railway known as High Speed Two (‘HS2’). HS2 will initially run between London and Birmingham (Phase One) but is intended to be extended northwards to link Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds (Phase Two). The route 50 miles North of Birmingham is known as ‘Route 50NB’, which HS2 Ltd may carry out to extend the railway 50 miles further north of Birmingham.

The stated value of the contract/Lots are 2016 estimates based on HS2 Ltd's budget estimates for the Works taking account of the contractor's tender price. Since the contract is a target cost contract (NEC3 EEC Option C) the actual value of the contract may be higher or lower than the stated value.
The Initial estimated total value of the contracts/lots in Section V 2.4 are the upper values from the estimated range.
