This framework contract will provide the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, in particular JRC.D.4 Unit (based in Seville, Spain), with proven high-quality expertise in using and developing agro-economic modelling tools, and for the analysis and evaluation of policies in Africa, particularly agricultural and rural development policies. The areas and types of work envisaged under the framework contract are described below (Section 3). However, the precise type, timing and volume of the services to be provided cannot be specified in detail in advance. The framework contract will be implemented with specific contracts. Assignments under the framework contract will cover various types of research studies and other services related to policy support as described in Sections 3 and 5 below. Some of these services will be of a more permanent or cyclical nature, while others may be one-off.
