By way of a high-level overview of the Contracting Authority’s requirements, the successful tenderer will be required to provide the following equipment to the contracting authority:
• four bipolar electrosurgical generators, with foot pedals and power cords;
• four associated irrigators and power cords;
• all cabling necessary to interconnect each of the irrigators with each of the generators;
• four bipolar generator carts;
• a complete ultrasonic aspirator system.
Additionally, the successful tenderer will be required to provide a range of consumables and support services. The successful tenderer shall be remunerated for the provision of the required equipment through the purchase of a committed number of consumables.

Description of renewals:
Following the expiry of the initial 3-year managed equipment service contract, title to the equipment shall pass to the contracting authority. As a recurring option that may be availed, seven subsequent 1-year contracts for the support and maintenance of the equipment and the provision of related consumables may be awarded.

Justification:
In accordance with Article 27.3 of Directive 2014/24/EU, the contracting authority is availing of shortened timescales in respect of this competition. The urgency associated with this requirement arises from the fact that the required equipment will be used in an acute hospital setting. On grounds of patient care, time is of the essence in respect of this competition.
