Het betreft gecertificeerde Reddingsvesten en PLB’s, gebruiksduur is ca. 10 jaar. Opdrachtnemer verzorgt keuring en onderhoud. Omwille van de veiligheid van gebruikers is het niet wenselijk veel verschillende reddingsvesten in omloop te hebben. Kortere looptijd van de overeenkomst kan leiden tot grotere diversiteit aan reddingsvesten. Vanwege hoge tenderkosten is kortere looptijd niet doelmatig.
