The above named client, intends to use part of the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for the above named project.
Additional financing details are as follows:
The borrower or recipient (hereinafter called ‘Borrower’) indicated in the PDS has applied for or received financing (hereinafter called ‘funds’) from the European Bank for reconstruction and development (hereinafter called the ‘Bank’) toward the cost of the project named in the PDS. The borrower intends to apply a portion of the funds to eligible payments under the contract for which this pre-qualification document is issued.
Contracts will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from/grant administered by the Bank and will be open to firms from any country.
The client intends to pre-qualify firms and joint ventures to tender for the above mentioned contract, which includes the following:
— construction of 5 pumping stations with different flow capacity ranges from approximately 1 200 to 12,000 m3/day,
— construction of force mains associated with the 5 pumping stations located in different parts of the project area, with an approximate length of (6,8) km and around (200 - 500) mm diameter ductile iron pipeline with all related fittings and supports,
— connection of the new force main from the new pumping station (PS0) to the inlet chamber at the entrance of Wadi Al-Arab Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The contract is expected to start on 1.2.2020 and last about 24 months.
This pre-qualification exercise will be conducted by e-procurement using the EBRD Client E-Procurement Portal (ECEPP). Prospective participants who have registered in ECEPP and expressed an interest in the contract may access the documents and may request clarification and further information from the client through ECEPP. The proceeds of the loan from/ grant administered by the Bank will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law or official regulation of the client's country.
