In the context of JRC support to the Danube strategy, the development of a soil database at scale 1:250 000 according to the SOTER methodology is planned. It is envisaged that the 14 countries that are part of the Danube strategy will contribute with soil data from their country according to a specific technical procedure. This procedure requires that soil data available in a country is inserted in a database structure according to specific rules (SOTER format). This (empty) database structure will be available to each country and detailed guidelines for populating the database structure will be given. The final result of the procurement will be the availability of 14 separate country databases with soil data in the SOTER format.
