Marketconsultation Alu Circles Initiative: Turning Residuals into Resources
The Alu Circles open market consultation aims to inform technology providers regarding the upcoming procurement of solutions for the upcycling or recycling of aluminium based sludges from drinking water treatment, beyond current state of the art. Several public procurers are facing the same common challenge and are thus looking to purchase one or more joint solutions. This is an opportunity for technology providers to provide their feedback for a co-creation process. The aim is to find solutions which:
(i) are cost effective, hence leading to cost reduction for water utilities;
(ii) contribute to a circular economy approach;
(iii) are available at TRL-level 7 or higher.
The Alu Circles Initiative seeks to organize a demand side power on a pan-European scale by establishing a grouping of (EU) water utilities that will prepare and conduct a cross-border innovation through joint procurement to identify the solution to the abovementioned common need.
This is an open market consultation to inform on upcoming procurement (pre-commercial procurement — PCP) with the aim to receive feedback from technology providers.
