Target 2 of the EU biodiversity strategy focuses on maintaining and enhancing ecosystems and their services by establishing green infrastructure and restoring at least 15 % of degraded ecosystems. The supporting actions related to the implementation of the target are highly technical. This contract aims at providing to the Commission the technical support needed in order to develop them further. This is in particular the case for strengthening of the knowledge base for assessing the state and values of ecosystems and their services, the implementation of a restoration prioritisation framework, the support to the deployment of green infrastructure and TEN-G, integration of biodiversity proofing into the delivery of the major EU funding instruments, and no net loss.

The contract is renewable twice for a period of 12 months on identical terms, up to a total duration of maximum 36 months and total budget of 870 000 EUR provided that the contractor's performance is satisfactory in all respects and depending on budget availability.

The total amount for 36 months will be 817 596 EUR, the amount for 12 months is 272 532 EUR.
