II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

East Africa Marine Transport Co. Ltd. ("EAMT") is looking to retain the services of a qualified and experienced engineering firm to provide technical advisory services as Owner’s Engineer for the Project during the turnkey shipbuilder procurement phase and the ferry construction phase of one roll-on/roll-off (“RoRo”) freight ferry with the option of a second vessel exercisable by EAMT. The scope will cover:

(i) the selection of the turnkey shipbuilder from initial solution to Notice to proceed under the Shipbuilding Contract (NTP) and throughout the construction period to completion and takeover, and during the defects liability period (“Phase 1”); and

(ii) if requested, throughout the construction to completion and takeover of the second Vessel (“Phase 2”).

PIDG is funded by six governments (UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Sweden, Germany) and the IFC. This procurement will be conducted under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended) of the United Kingdom.

This service will be funded by EU-Africa ITF.
