Southend-on-Sea Borough Council administers the Essential Living Fund, which offers practical support to households suffering hardship or crisis. This is achieved by supplying white goods or appliances to successful applicants. The white goods provided include, but is not limited to; fridges, fridge freezers, washing machines, gas cookers and electric cookers.

II.2.1)Total quantity or scope:
Expected contract commencement date is 1.4.2017. The cost for all white goods provided under the Essential Living Fund is currently funded by Central Government. The scheme is confirmed to run until 31.3.2018. Therefore the contract term is limited to this timeframe. However, a possible 12-months contract extension will be included as part of the contract in the event that the scheme is extended or the Council is able to provide funding for the scheme beyond 1.4.2018.
Approval of a contract extension will be done at the Council's discretion and based on the Supplier's performance level.
Therefore the contract will run from 1.4.2017 until 31.3.2018.
Estimated value excluding VAT:
Range: between 150 000 and 170 000 GBP
