The objective of the project is to prepare the evolutions of the SAR/Galileo Return Link Service and in particular study the further implementation of the remote beacon activation and 2-way messaging services.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

— The total scope shall encompass a phase A/B for such service implementation.

— Following initial assessment of the requirements for these 2 services, the proposed activity will derive possible architecture, preliminary design and operational concepts for the implementation of these services.

— The project will also ensure coordination of the user requirements with the various stakeholders: ICAO, IMO, RCCs.

— For the remote beacon activation service, specific emphasis shall be placed on the security, safety, operational concept and aircraft implementation aspects.

— For the 2-way messaging service, specific emphasis shall be placed on the possibility to reduce the latency of the system.
