Section VI: Complementary information
BCUHB are keen to engage with supplier that are able to support the delivery of a 3in1 Electronic Patient Record incorporating a document repository, e-forms functionality and portal which will:
— create e-form templates and associated workflows for the capture of new data and updates,
— allow existing paper records and new e-forms to be stored and recalled electronically,
— deliver seamless integration with national and local best of breed systems via an open architecture allowing the transfer of data and documents,
— enable quick access to the stored comprehensive patient record or its component parts,
— to present information in a meaningful way to support clinical workflow; presenting to the user appointment lists, recent test results, etc. and provide automated notifications,
— provide an electronic window that allows clinicians and administrators to view defined information about individual and cohorts of patients in a 'virtual' electronic patient record,
— meet the national metadata standards, SNOMED CT, HL7 FHIR,
— meet existing NHS Wales Data Dictionary standards, and have the flexibility to be configured to incorporate future changes,
— to support the streamlining of working practices by removing ‘paper’ from the system,
— provide a detailed audit trail of all access and updates to patient records,
— support the management of Subject Access Requests including the redaction of information and output to .pdf,
— be device agnostic.
We would like you to present to us how your product will manage the following scenarios:
— I am a clinician that is preparing for my clinic and want to review my patients casenotes in advance, being able to return to identified pages with ease during the appointment,
— I am the lead on tomorrow’s MDT panel and want to prepare a relevant subset of the patient’s record for review by the whole group,
— I am undertaking an initial assessment on a new patient and would like to capture this electronically in real time during the appointment,
— I am a Subject Access Request Clerk and I want to find and view all information on a patient, apply redactions and export out a redacted copy as a .pdf,
— I am a validation clerk, or researcher, and wish to review the case notes and letters for a list of 50 patients,
— I am a clinician working in the Emergency Department dealing with an unconscious patient and urgently require the patient record but only the demographic information is known.
